Well the death of Michael Jackson may have surprised us all, but that didn’t stop a lot of enterprising domainers to dive in and start snapping up a variety of domain names with the words MICHAEL, JACKSON and finally DEAD/DEATH/RIP/REST PEACE, amongst others. Already looking on SEDO, I can see parked domains such as michaeljacksonconspiracytheory.co.uk, thrillermemories.com and whackojacko.net quickly appearing to fill the void left by Michael’s departure. These addresses may have short longevity, if that’s not a contradiction, but they may also generate some cash for a world now searching google (and snapping up memorabilia on ebay?) for news on the great man.

Someone has even snapped up michaeljacksonautopsy.com for gods sake!!!

Blogging on a particular topic which you are interested in or have an abnormal amount of knowledge on can be a fantastic way to monetise your site. Well, I’m really into investing, so I was able to knock up an Invest Gold Blog and a Tax Free Investing Blog. So by now, you are probably asking yourself; what are my interests? And how do I monetise my skills and interests? I found the book ProBlogger , by Darren Rowse and Chris Garrett to be great for giving me ideas, such as even the use of Wordpress as per this site.

One of the best things you can do when trying to make money from domain name investing is to optimise your existing websites. There are a lot of elements that can make a difference to your Google Pagerank and get you near the top of list for searches relating to your main keywords. A Page listing can make a huge difference financially, even when compared to being the number one on Page 2. I found the book Getting Into Bed With Google by Jon Smith to be an excellent read that will doubtless repay itself many times over in the years ahead.

Quite simply, in a world full of acronyms, names, buzzwords and the like, snapping up the domain could really be the route to wealth.
To this end, Intelligent Domain have seen opportunities in the historic world of computers, snapping up names like Spectrum User, Commodore User and Electron User.

Commodities, such as oil, wheat, gold and timber have been the building blocks of everyday human life throughout thousands of years of history.

I believe so strongly in the future of Gold and Silver, for example, I’ve even written a book on the subject, How to Invest in Gold and Silver, including, of course, a large section on the variety of ways to invest using the Internet. And another book of ours, Successful Tax Free ISA Investing, tells you exactly how to invest in Wheat, Oil, Soybeans and the like, for tax-free gains.

Since the early 1980s, most commodities have suffered massive falls of 80-90% from their all-time highs. This means that in the time of the internet being in general existence, most people, have ignored this asset class when investing.

Given this background, it is no surprise to find that many decent commodity domain names are still available, if you look and think hard enough.

Consider buying the books How to Invest in Gold and Silver or Successful Tax Free ISA Investing,, if you want to find out more, but in a nutshell, we believe that in future years people will return to Gold and Silver, and both have roughly tripled since the lows of 2002. The ways in which gold and silver transcend national currencies may also lead to more and more usage of both metals as a medium for international exchange, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see cross-border shopping websites such as Play.com accept Gold as well as Pounds and Euros within the next ten years.

Oil is the commodity that features most in our daily lives, and we all know how expensive petrol is getting, but look behind the scenes and you’ll find more news stories on wheat shortages, food price rises, and higher heating bills.
